Burns, Oregon ~ Eastern Oregon
The jingle of spurs as a cowboy mounts his horse for that long ride on the trail; the bawling of cattle on roundup day; the endless dust of the cattle drive; authentic details from the life of a cowboy; the raw power of an untamed bronco. These are some of the many impressions that a cowboy artist brings to a canvas. Western Cowboy Art enthusiasts can experience the life of a cowboy in the west through the art of a real cowboy who has lived life on the range.........At home in a pair of spurs, western artist R.V. (Ron) Jahns lives in the small Eastern Oregon town of Burns, Oregon. Ron creates his unique western wildlife paintings by tapping into his vast experience of true life western experiences out in the mountains and on the trails of the great Northwest. Ron paints from the heart and his experience as a cowboy in the west and out on the trails. Ron has a particular passion for the mountains from Eastern Oregon to Alaska and draws from his many years of mountain adventures as inspiration for his western paintings. Born and raised on a ranch, this cowboy artist is well acquainted with the subjects of his Western art. Ron strives for historical accuaracy in his western cowboy paintings and gets mighty riled when an artist misrepresents the facts about cowboy life in the west! Living in Alaska for 17 years added a new dimension to Ron's western art. As a trapper and fisherman he observed the wildlife in its natural setting and has conveyed this spirit to his canvas.
